From the Small Wave, dismantling Thurott’s rabid Apple bashing (hey I am all for rabid bashing as I do it myself, just make sure you have the small thing called facts to support you): More Apple-Bashing Nonsense: Since Microsoft Was So Bad, Shouldn’t Apple Be Stopped?

Previously I wrote that the trolls are out for Apple, and to expect more ridiculous articles. Well, who better to supply one than Paul Thurrott, that constant source of Microsoft disinformation and FUD? Occasionally Thurrott reaches a new high in low, and did so with his post on Apple’s “culture of lies”. His ranting in this piece rivals that of Jason Calacanis’ recent nonsensical babbling about Apple; it’s that bad.

So Many Words, So Few That Matter

The only two things worth noting in the entire screed are these:

As I write this, Apple doesn’t quite have a monopoly in any given market

Yep, thanks, that covers Apple.

Microsoft got into antitrust trouble because they behaved in a manner that was illegal, but only for a company that holds monopoly power.

This is Paul’s way of admitting that Microsoft was operating illegally. Though he normally spends most of his time ignoring their history or re-writing it, today he’s coming clean. He added the last bit to setup the real purpose of his piece, which I’ll get to shortly. The bottom line is you can’t abuse a monopoly unless you are a monopoly, and simply becoming a monopoly doesn’t mean you’ll abuse it.

Imagine inviting your Mac user group over and serving this apple pie for dessert…

There’s an app for that

Some Apple ad goodness is always welcome

Any review which mentions the beloved Avocado Green kitchen ROCKS. The only thing that would have made it better is if the reviewer remembered that the Avocado Green was usually paired with Harvest Gold for 1970s hotness.

It’s like this. You’ve bought an old house and settling in for months of renovation. You have goals for every month and many of them give you immediate and intense gratification. The cramped Avocado Green kitchen is now open and airy, doused in natural light, and filled with modern appliances. The rickety back porch is now a full deck, with a six-person hot tub.

Other renovation landmarks include a new roof, upgraded electrical service, and a new heating system with multiple zones. Boring. But nonetheless essential. These are the things that keep a house functional and livable, and ensure that it’ll still be a fun place to live in twenty years’ time.

That’s my overall take on Snow Leopard, aka Mac OS X 10.6. Impressive and important, it’s an update that will revitalize your existing Mac even though you’ll be stumped for a quick five-minute demo that convinces the people around you that much of anything has changed at all.

Check this:

Windows Enthusiasts are working hard to compare Windows 7 against Snow Leopard. The problem: there’s no intelligent or rational basis for doing so.

‘Nuff said.

Cult of Mac waxes poetic on how a fictional device is already kicking the butt out of real ones. I just am drooling over the imaginary pic:
