There is a really cool Apple store widget that we have added to this side in the left sidebar. Why? Usually when the Apple store is done they are serving up some more Apple goodness.

NeilUnreal at TheologyWeb shows off his handiwork:

Right after I bought my iPod, I bought a hard-shell case to go along with it. In my case, it’s necessary, because I take a bull-in-a-china shop approach to portable technology.

However, I was worried about the case’s possible effect on the cooling system of the iPod. So, I decided to improvise a set of cooling holes using a Dremel tool. I came up with the idea of using an interlinked variation on the Apple logo. Below is the result.

More evidence of the growing man-crush epidemic on Steve Jobs (note: a man-crush says nothing about the crusher’s sexuality):

Until recently, I didn’t have much of an affinity for Apple, other than for Steve Jobs himself.

read more of the article Apple Convergence ~ it gives a great perspective on the Apple ecosystem that “just works.”

A very interesting perspective on why great basketball players and great CEOs like Steve Jobs really ARE worth 100 more peoplebut here is the quote I liked:

A few CEOs’ incomes reflect some kind of wrongdoing. But are there not others whose incomes really do reflect the wealth they generate? Steve Jobs saved a company that was in a terminal decline. And not merely in the way a turnaround specialist does, by cutting costs; he had to decide what Apple’s next products should be. Few others could have done it. And regardless of the case with CEOs, it’s hard to see how anyone could argue that the salaries of professional basketball players don’t reflect supply and demand.

It may seem unlikely in principle that one individual could really generate so much more wealth than another. The key to this mystery is to revisit that question, are they really worth 100 of us? Would a basketball team trade one of their players for 100 random people? What would Apple’s next product look like if you replaced Steve Jobs with a committee of 100 random people? Windows.

From The Zealotry of Mac Users:

It leads one to think – what is it about the Mac, check that, Apple product lineup and brand that elicits such visceral responses from people that question his Lordship Steve Jobs or Apple’s approach to product marketing?

Is it that Apple’s products simply work well?

YES. And that blog uses the same theme as this one but kept it in its horridly garish original colour scheme. I think I see the malfunction here.
