Blah, blah, blah, some dorks in Miami (psystar or as I prefer piss-star) want to sell pieces of crap and pretend they are Macs. Apple have at ‘em. BTW, I have it on a good source that they are not a hoax. That doesn’t mean that they will ever ship any product, but the intentions were and still are to have a genuine company. If I hear anything else that I can share, I will let you know. I love tech bloggers, but they are declaring this a hoax like a game of telephone tag, as if it is a proven fact. It isn’t – and if my source can be believed, and I believe it can – it isn’t. Now… I wouldn’t recommend buying a piece of crap Mac clone, and I think Apple will sit on them before they ship a thing, to claim people are purposeful frauds until there is proof isn’t responsible. At all.
Now here is my theory. Totally from my own head. I think these people genuinely think they have a shot at a successful business and are deluded enough to take on Apple. And arrogant enough. (which is an odd kind of way is admirable considering that Dear Leader made his way through charisma and arrogance). BUT I think they are being used as patsies by some larger cowardly interest who wants to take on Apple indirectly but has too much public image to lose. I have zero proof of any of that. But that is my theory.

I think Psystar means this to be some sort of protest against “monopolistic” practices by Apple. Their website isn’t exactly clear on what they mean by “open computing.”
Had they been only selling the machines blank and saying they could run OSX, they might have avoided a storm.
